Cotton Candy is a short experimental film that incorporates multiple disciplines such as sculpture and performance. I shot this piece in a furniture store in Ridgewood, NY, which I saw as a space of repeating forms. I thought to play with notions of fulfillment by placing a character in this particular space.
“The selfish capitalist toxins that are most poisonous to well-being are the systematic encouragement of the ideas that material affluence is the key to fulfillment, that only the affluent are winners and that access to the top is open to anyone willing to work hard enough, regardless of their familial, ethnic or social background - if you do not succeed, there is only one person to blame…" Capitalist Realism, Mark Fisher.

Cotton Candy est un film court expérimental qui incorpore des disciplines telles que la sculpture et la performance. J’ai tourné ce film dans un magasin de meubles de style baroque à Ridgewood, NY, que j’ai perçu comme un espace de forme répétitive. J’ai donc pensé à jouer avec la notion de substance en plaçant ce personnage dans cet espace.
