Gone, 2022

Sand, Fabric, Wood, 15 x 13 x 7 inches (38 x 33 x 18 cm)

Gone is a sculpture depicting a luggage made of sand that crumbles in its trajectory—inspired by the material’s ability to construct or collapse.
Sand is a demarcation between different continents and has the ability to stand or collapse, to change and shift form. People who are displaced or who live far away from their country know this feeling of moving into space, but leaving a piece of yourself behind, carrying what they can with them.
